The words get abused, so here is the honest ladder. Used: pulled from another truck, history unknown. Rebuilt: the failed parts replaced, the rest reused. Is a remanufactured unit worth it on an older truck?
Often, yes. If the chassis, cab and the rest of the driveline are sound, a remanufactured engine costs far less than replacing the truck, and it puts a known unit with a warranty under the hood instead of an unknown one.
How long does an engine swap take?
It varies by chassis and unit availability. We give you a realistic timeline when we quote it and keep you updated, because a truck sitting in a bay earns nothing.
