Steering Repair
Play in the wheel is wear somewhere in the linkage, and it never gets better on its own. We find the loose joint and fix it before it becomes a control problem.

Linkage wear is an out-of-service item
On a commercial truck, steering wear is not a comfort complaint, it is an inspection item with published limits: drag links, tie rod ends, pitman arms, steering gear play and kingpin wear all get measured at a DOT inspection, and a truck outside spec is parked. We measure the same way, so what we tell you matches what an inspector would find.
We repair what fails the measurement and finish with an alignment, because steering and alignment are one system wearing together on a loaded front axle.

Straight answers
How much play in the steering wheel is normal?
Very little on modern rack systems; commercial trucks have specific measured limits that are inspection items. If you notice new play, it is worth an inspection regardless of the vehicle.
Why does my truck wander in its lane?
Wander is usually a combination: worn linkage joints, a loose steering gear, kingpin wear or alignment drift. We inspect the chain end to end, because replacing one joint in a worn linkage fixes nothing.
My power steering moans and jerks. What is it?
Often a low or aerated fluid condition from a leak, or a failing pump. Catch the leak early and you save the pump.
